In the eyes of the law
So Elise and I went down to the courthouse today to sort the legal paperwork out. Gotta love Dekalb County; they're one stop shopping!
They made us raise our right hands and swear everything on the paper was true. It didn't ask about "love" anywhere... just about our parents and to make sure we weren't related.

Please explain why the license was JUST taken out. Now, what is the official wedding date? Did you have to go back to the minister to get her to sign it?
There was a lot of stuff to do! The minister will sign it and the law'll figure out what they think the official date is. From our point of view, we got married April 5.
We were supposed to do it last Friday, but I think Steve wanted a little legal wiggle room in case I didn't return to the realm of the sane after the wedding weekend. (ha ha)
That's Steve! It took a while for him to realize the value of insurance, and now he is always trying to update it for computer crashes, car crashes, wedding crashes, etc. Love you both and glad you haven't lost your sense of humor in all the stress.
